What Do You Know

baack.... from that wittle island out there near Changi.

OBS turned out to be fun and more slack then what i first thought it would be. >_< Must be our watch... so lazy to do everything. No sense of urgency.... and almost all NY girls are like that. :P

Five days of activities, and a lot of typing to do. >_<

Day one-
Took about half a day to get to pulau ubin... afterwards it took another aeon before we got to know our watches. I was overjoyed when er zi and lao ba happened to be in my watch. ^^ got introduced to our instructor later on -Gideon, where are you?- took a watch photo and got used to the place a bit. Cleared out the store, learnt to pitch a tent and then went to learn capsizing. Capsizing! i sure didn't look forward to that. Strangely enough, because i didn't look forward to capsizing, i volunteered to be the first pair (with lao ba) to capsize. Irony...

Almost died crashing into the rocks because ZZ and Shermaine disappeared when they were supposed to recue us after we capsized... lesson one: never rely on ZZ and Shermaine to rescue you! >_<

Had an outdoor dinner that evening.... hmm... and that's about all i remember.

Oh, and there were freaky noises in the middle of the night when we were sleeping in the tent...

Day two-
started with little activities like the one with the log and trust fall... later we hiked to the second campsite which was this very very deserted place with no toilets! >_< And wild animals. That stole some things and messed up our camp. Thank goodness i didn't lose anything. Built a raft. It sank later in the quarry. Went into the quarry on pretense to test out the raft, came out to carry the raft parts back to the shed, went back into the quarry. Bathed in the quarry. Everyone did that. I seriously don't think the water is clean water anymore... XD

had a -rather- good dinner under the stars, though we had a lack of flashlights, and thus could not see our food properly, attended briefing for the sea expedition the next day. didn't understand the route because i) not enough light ii)instructor was blocking the map anyway. Cleared up a bit, and i left the mess tin outside the tent on a piece of rock. >_< lol... forgot about it until the next day.

what else... mm... attended a couple of mass peeing sessions. Don't want to try that ever again... -__-

Day three-
Sea expedition. Kayaked for about five hours, was dead tired after that. I don't know how some other watches managed to kayak 9 friggin hours. We took the route cutting through the island, and at first they said that our route is harder because we have to travel through the swamp. eww...swamp. Thankfully, we were punctual and only kayaked through the river at high tide. I didn't need to get out until we reached the road, where we had to carry our kayaks over the road. How i wished the store there was open! It said cold drinks for sale! T_T I was glad later that i conserved my energy at the begining of the expedition kayaking slowly through the river. I really need those saved energy later when we were out in the open sea.... er... not very open sea, since bother sides were islands, but spaced rather far apart. Kayaking isn't supposed to be very tiring if you kayak for a while, because you're supposed to rely on your waist strength. However, later on, even your waist strength gets used up. LOL... XD

haiz. Kayaking=fun! but then don't like the waves....and they don't like us either. They love to go against us! >_< And we rebel as well.. haiya!

day three was the day where we packed our things again and hiked a shorter distance to the third camp. The Resi camp! *glomps the camp, i don't know how* They had Cold Drinks there!! *gulps down cold drinks* but then by dinner time there, i had started to feel more than a little dizzy... *sees stars* almost fainted.... X/ but i was alright after that. The cold drinks must have helped. ^^

Had solo night walk later on... it was real good. There is absolutely nothing scary about it, save for the construction site. >_< Construction sites are scary even when it's not dark. The distance to walk was really short, and intervals were rather frequent and you would usually find that you'll catch up with the person in front of you, or the person after you will catch up to you. That destroyed part of the "niceness" of the solo night walk. I hoped that they would ask us to stay by ourselves for like 10 minutes or so, and enjoy the sounds of the night. ^^ Of course that didn't happen. I was disappointed that nobody seemed to take the night walk seriouly. Very few people seemed to have really thought through the things they've been through, the meaning of everything, when they had the chance to be really alone in the dark woth nothing much distracting them. The moment they saw their friends, they just started talking. Where was the time for real reflection? People need to learn.

Slept in the tent again, (hey it's the resi camp and we still have to sleep in the tents?! Oh well, not as if i didn't expect it.)

Pretty good day with fine weather. :P

Day four-
Had a good half a day (good food is what matters!) where we did more high element types of activities. Rock wall experience was good, and i don't want to remember what it felt like on those darn-shaky-single-logs-that-did-not-have-anything-else-other-that-itself-for-me-to-grab-onto-to-steady-myself. And we weren't supposed to hold on to the wires?! humph. And someone blast gideon for crashing into the already-not-stable-at-all structure when i was i-don't-know-how-many-metres-high-up-in-the-air-and refusing-to-budge-an-inch-more-because-i-was-damned-friggin-scared! Now i know what i hate. I hate things that are really really REALLY shaky. Nope, i'm not afraid of heights, thank you very much, but i'm afraid of that thing moving! Understand? Good.

Hiked back to the first camp, and everyone sort of gotten a bit blue. >_< had to start packing up because we were leaving the next day. *sob* ZZ infected some of us to start singing An Jing during dinner, i'm not sure why, and we infected the other watch to sing along with us. Why did we sing a sad song when we shouldn't be feeling so sad? We should at least try to be happy right? So sad...

nevermind. Quote BiQi:
"Rubby rubby, rubby rubby, rub, rub, rub!"
XD

Day five-
Simple. Washed the tents, packed everything neatly, and got prepared to leave for home. -__- started really to miss that place. *sniffles* we hanged around with our instructor for a bit and had a small sharing session as well as a signing-in-Gideon's-scrapbook-session. Another sad day... I miss camp! Was rather awake during the ferry trip and bus ride back. Was still rather awake when i reached home and ate lunch and unpacked a little. Watched FMA episode #3. Thought it was nice. Laid down on the sofa to rest a while. Ended up sleeping all the way until past 9 pm. Refused to eat dinner, waddled my way to my bed, plonked down and slept until about 11am the next day. O_o wow... i slept for about two-thirds of the day away... and i didn't even send my brother off for his three-week trip to Thailand for the Army at the airport! :'(

It'll be another three weeks then.
